June 2010 Children's Programs:
Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during June 2010:
Summer Reading Club 2010 – Make a Splash @ Your Library – starts Tuesday, June 22nd – sign up for reading, prizes and fun!
** Petting Zoo Wednesday, June 23rd @ 11:00am. **
Story Times: June 22nd through August 5th
Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time: (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 1pm
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.
June 2nd (Wednesday)
Family Story Time @ 7:00pm – Join Mrs. Averett for a Picnic Storytime. No registration required.
June 5th (Saturday)
Family Story Time @ 11:00am – Join us for Here Comes Summer Storytime - all ages welcome.
Family Movie @ 1:00pm – Join us in watching a recently released DVD featuring Willy, an orca. (PG) – parents must stay with children.
June 9th (Wednesday)
Family Storytime @ 10:00am – Join us for storytime as we Get Ready for Summer. No registration required.

Bookmark Contest Reception @ 4:30pm – All entrants in the bookmark contest are invited to join us for a celebration for a job well done – refreshments served, certificates awarded, pictures taken.
June 14th(Monday)
LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations.
Space is limited – online registration begins 6/7. WT residents only.
June 24th(Thursday)
Mad Science: Sea, Sand, Surf @ 2:00pm – ages 4-6, learn about sand, shells & sea creatures!
Mad Science: Wacky Water @ 3:00pm – ages 7-10, learn about water, waves & the environment!
Space is limited, online registration for WT residents starts 6/17.
June 24th (Thursday)
Chess Club @ 7:00pm. - All ages welcome – must know how to play – play for prizes. Please bring a board just in case.
June 25th(Friday)
Beach Blanket Bingo @ 1:00pm – ages 5 and up, join us for a fun game! Prizes for all – no registration required.
June 29th(Tuesday)
SpongeBob Cartooning Workshop - Join Susan Jones as she show us how to draw SpongeBob & his friends under the sea.
2:00pm – ages 6-9
3:00pm – ages 10 -13

About the Book: The Myth: Alice was an ordinary girl who stepped through the looking glass and entered a fairy-tale world invented by Lewis Carroll in his famous storybook. The Truth: Wonderland is real. Alyss Heart is the heir to the throne, until her murderous aunt Redd steals the crown and kills Alyss parents. To escape Redd, Alyss and her bodyguard, Hatter Madigan, must flee to our world through the Pool of Tears. But in the pool Alyss and Hatter are separated. Lost and alone in Victorian London, Alyss is befriended by an aspiring author to whom she tells the violent, heartbreaking story of her young life. Yet he gets the story all wrong. Hatter Madigan knows the truth only too well, and he is searching every corner of our world to find the lost princess and return her to Wonderland so she may battle Redd for her rightful place as the Queen of Hearts.
