Washington Twp Public Library March 2012 Children's Programs

Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during March 2012:
* Please note – Washington Twp residents are given priority for all programs that require sign-ups.*

Spring Story Time
Story Times:  March 20th – May 10th
Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time:  (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.

March 1st (Thursday)
Learn to Draw Dr. Seuss Inspired Characters @ 4:00pmKids in grades 2-5, join Miss Sue Jones to learn how to draw your own characters.  Limited space available.  Register online starting 2/23 – WT residents only.

March 3rd (Saturday)
Family Story Time @ 11:00am – Join Mrs. Birch for fun with stories & more – no registration required.

March 3rd(Saturday)
Family Movie @ 1:00pmJoin us for a recently released DVD about a swashbuckling cat.  Free refreshments.  No registration required – Parents/caregivers stay with children.

March 7th (Wednesday)
Evening Story Time @ 7:00pm – Family Story Time – Join Mrs. Averett for “All About Biscuit” – our favorite puppy. No registration required.

March 7th & March 14th(Wednesday)
Read to Rover @ 4:00pm – Beginning readers, join our friendly therapy dogs & their trainers to practice reading.  REAL dogs!  Please contact Mrs. Birch to schedule a time slot.

March 9th (Friday)
Family Movie Nite @ 6:45pm – Join us after the library closes for a recently released DVD about a young French boy living in a train station.  Free refreshments, parents/caregivers stay with children.  Please sign up so we know how many to expect. 

March 12th (Monday)
LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations.   WT residents only.  Online sign ups start 3/5.

March 21st (Wednesday)
Afternoon Story Time @ 4:00pm – all ages welcome. Join us as we “Get Creative” – with stories Celebrating Youth Art Month – No registration required.

March 23rd (Friday)
3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm.  Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us as we discuss The Borrowers by Mary Norton, and start our next chapter book together. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting.

March 26th(Monday)
Book Buzz @ 4:00pm – for grades 5-8. Join us to discuss The Phantom Tollbooth, by Norton Juster & others that you are reading, snacks available. Pick up a book at the library.  For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

March 28th(Wednesday)
Lionheart Puppets presents The Emperor’s New Clothes (an April Fool’s Tale) @ 4:00pm – appropriate for ages 4 -11  Join us as a new tailor promises that he can help the Emperor distinguish which of his knights are foolish and which are noble and true. Will poor Sir Humphrey make the cut? And if he does, can he stop a local thief from stealing the Emperor's riches before it's too late? Please register online starting 3/21. 

March 29th (Thursday)
Chess Club @ 7:00pm. Bring a board just in case, play for prizes – no registration required.
