Friends of the Washington Twp. Public Library Book Sale

The Friends of the WTPL Book Sale is scheduled for Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days in the Library meeting room. The Library’s address is 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853. All proceeds benefit the Washington Township Public Library. The sale includes adult, young adult and Children’s books, Dvd’s, Music Cd’s, etc. Call the Library at 908-876-3596 if you have any questions.

The National Library Week  Bookmark Contest!  Make sure to return your (one only please) bookmark by May 4th, so the voting may begin. Voting will take place from May 8th – June 1st.  Stop by to vote for your favorites!  For more info stop by or check our website.

WT Friends of the Library Book Sale – Friday, May 10th & Saturday, May 11th - stop by to pick up some inexpensive books & more good stuff – for a good cause!

Celebrate Children’s Book Week – May 13th – 17th @ WTPL!!  It’s the Book-a-Day-Giveaway!  We will be giving away one book a day, Monday through Friday, for each of three categories: grades PreK-2, grades 3-5, & grades 6 and up.  Stop by to enter!

Book Buddies - Little Buddies (grades 1 - 3) practice reading to Big Buddies (grades 5 and up) – program runs through May 7th.  For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time:  (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.

May 1st(Wednesday)
Evening Story Time @ 7:00pm – Family Story Time – Join Mrs. Averett for a Sporty Story Time - No registration required.

May 4th(Saturday) 
Family Story Time @ 11:00am – Join Mrs. Birch for fun with stories & more – no registration required.
Family Movie @ 1:00pm – Join us as we watch a recently released DVD & Celebrate May the Fourth Be With You!- Star Wars fun!!. Snacks provided, parents stay with children, no registration required.  Please stop by or call for title.

May 9th(Thursday)
Story Time w/Mrs. Birch at the  LV Green Market @ 4:00pm – all ages, come on down to the Green Market for some good stories!

May 13th (Monday)
LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations.
 WT residents only.  Online sign ups start  5/7.

May 14th & May 21st (Tuesday)
Read to Rover @ 4:00pm – Beginning readers, join our friendly therapy dogs & their trainers to practice reading.  REAL dogs!  Please contact Mrs. Birch to schedule a time slot.

May 15th (Wednesday)
Afternoon Story Time @ 4:00pm – All ages, Join Mrs. Birch for stories & more fun about Mo Willem’s Pigeon & friends.  No registration required.

May 20th(Monday)
3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm.  Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us as we discuss Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers & others you are reading. Pick up our next chapter book. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting.  Please contact Mrs. Birch if interested.

May 22nd (Wednesday)
Kidz Kraft @ 4:00pm – grades K-3, join Mrs. Birch to make wind toys!  Please register starting 5/15.

May 23rd (Thursday)
STEM @ 4:30pm – Grades K-3, join our friends from STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) for fun with exciting experiments & activities.  Please register online starting 5/16.

May 28th(Tuesday)
People of the Chapters(grade 5 Book Club) @ 4:00pm –  Kids in grade 5, join us to discuss Waggit’s Tale by Peter Howe,  and others that you are reading.  Snacks available.  Pick up a book at the library.  For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

May 29th & June 12th (Wednesday)
Story Time Yoga @ 11:30am – for ages 2-5 years old w/parent or caregiver, join Diana from Riverside Gym for stories & stretching! Please register online starting one week prior to the program.

May 30th(Thursday)
Chess Club  @ 7:00pm.  All ages welcome – must be able to play. Bring a board just in case – no registration required.
