What is the Teen SRC?
It’s the Teen Summer Reading Club at Washington Twp. Public Library. The Teen SRC is designed just for Washington Twp. young adults entering grades 6-12 and includes prizes, programs, movies, DIY nights, contests, books, and great things to do all summer!

Sign up at WTPL starting June 22nd. Login about once a week so that we can track your pages & book reviews.

Readers’ Theater Info Meeting (Mon) 6.28 @ 7:00 Sign ups begin 6.21 Grades 6-12: Interested in joining our Teen Readers’ Theater group? Come to this meeting for more info & to sign up! We’ll be bringing to life a popular children’s picture book. Practices are Mondays at 7pm through July. Performances are 8.5 at 2pm & 7pm.

A Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Night (Tue) 6/29 @ 7:00 Grades 6-12: Stop in for popcorn, snacks, soda & a movie!

Dig Up the Dirt on Your Family (Tue) 7/6 @ 7:00 — SIGN UPS start 6/29 Grades 6-12: Did you know that WTPL subscribes to special resources that were created just to trace family histories (aka genealogies)? And did you know that you can use them for FREE? Come to this class to learn how to research your roots and find out more about your family tree! Bring the name(s) & birthdate(s) of your grandparent(s) (or further back) to look up!

Babysitting Workshop (Thu) 7/8 @ 1:00pm — SIGN UPS start 7/1 Grades 6-12: Mary Stein from Hackettstown Hospital, will teach the basics of babysitting skills and safety. A must for any babysitter!

Painting Class (Tue) 7/13 @ 7:00 — SIGN UPS start 7/6 Grades 6-12: Join us to learn the art of painting with watercolors. Class taught by artist Janine Napierkowski.

New Jersey Shipwrecks (Wed) 7/14 @ 7:00pm — SIGN UPS have begun All Ages: Discover shipwrecks off the NJ coast!

High School Book Club (Tue) 7.20 @ 7:00 Grades 9-12: Do you like to read? Want to talk about your favorite books? Join us to talk about this month's book and other titles that you are reading! Sculpture Class (Tue) 7/27 @ 7:00pm — SIGN UPS start 7/27 Grades 6-12: Learn to create clay sculptures. Class taught by artist Janine Napierkowski.

Chocolate Festival (Tue) 8/3 @ 2:30pm — SIGN UPS start 7/27 Grades 6-12: Join us for our annual Teen Chocolate Festival! Test your chocolate knowledge with chocolate trivia. Taste different kinds of chocolate. Make & eat your own chocolate creations! Space is limited!

Fill out our TSRC Survey (available soon) by 8/10 to earn an extra 25 points! The Last Day to count points & to qualify for our Grand Prize is (Tue) 8/10! Join the Adult Summer Reading Club at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853. The fun begins on Monday, June 21st 2010 with our “Monday Afternoon at the Movies” feature starting at 1:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served throughout the day. “Water Your Mind – Read” is this summer’s theme. Catch a film, try a new genre, learn how to do water color with pencils and more. The 2010 Summer Reading Program is open to adults ages 18 and older, with weekly prizes, programs and special events. Monday Afternoon at the Movies at the Washington Twp. Public Library

This summer twice a month on Monday at 1 p.m. , the Library staff will be showing free movies along with light refreshments. The dates are June 21st, July 12th, July 19th, August 2nd and August 16th. Hummingbird gardening at the Washington Twp. Public Library, Long Valley, NJ

Robyn Morley, Garden Club of Long Valley member, will present a program on how to effectively lure hummingbirds to your existing or new garden on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853. Plants, hummingbird feeders (sugar feeding solutions and cleaning) will be discussed.

June Art Display at the Washington Twp. Public Library, Long Valley, NJ


On display at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd, Long Valley, NJ, are works of large-scale flowers by Celeste Fondaco. Celeste has loved to draw since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Celeste has been drawing and painting for her entire life. It is only in the last 10 years that she has been displaying her work. Most of her recent work is of large-scale flowers, often painted from photos taken in her own garden or local public gardens. Her medium of choice is oil and acrylic for the flowers, but she also enjoys working in acrylic pastel and watercolor on occasion...

Since retiring 12 years ago, she has become more active in the art world. She is currently the President of the Drew Art Association. She received her Associates in Fine Arts from the County College of Morris and is currently finishing up her Fine Arts degree at Farleigh Dickinson University.

She has been showing her work throughout New York and New Jersey in both juried and non juried shows. She has had numerous solo shows and her work is in many private collections.

Celeste was born and raised in Green Village and currently lives in Chatham Township with her husband, Peter and a menagerie of furry and feathered creatures.
