Washington Twp Public Library: February Kid's Programs

Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during February 2011:

* Please note – Washington Twp residents are given priority for all programs that require sign-ups.*

Book Buddies – SIGN up NOW! Volunteers needed - Grades 5 and up. Kids in Grades 1 or 2, everyone please sign up with Mrs. Birch. Tuesdays from 4:30 -5:00pm, 6 weeks, starting January 18th (no reading 2/22).

Winter Story Time
Story Times: Through March 3rd
Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time: (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.

February 2nd (Wednesday)
Evening Story Time @ 7:00pm – Family Story Time – Take a Bite Out of Books! Celebrate Dental Health Month w/ Mrs. Averett! No registration required.

February 5th(Saturday)
Family Story Time @ 11:00am – Join Mrs. Birch for fun with stories & more – no registration required.
Family Movie @ 1:00pm – Join us as we watch a recently released DVD (rated PG) about a two wolves trying to get back home. Snacks provided, parents stay with children, no registration required.

February 10th(Thursday)
Big Kidz Kraft @ 4:00pm – Kids in grades 3-5. Join us to make a Valentine Candle & a Chinese Lantern. Online sign ups for WT residents start 2/3.

February 11th(Friday)
Kidz Kraft @ 4:00pm – Kids in grades K-2. Join us to make a Valentine Tic-Tac-Toe & Puzzle. Online sign ups for WT residents start 2/4.

February 12th(Saturday)
Historical Colonial Reinactment from 1:00-3:00pm. Ages 8 and up are invited to interact with Noah Lewis as Ned Hector - Free Black Colonial Soldier, Wagoneer, Respected Patriot, Hero. Online registration has begun.

February 14th (Monday)
LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations. WT residents only. Online sign ups start 2/7.

February 17th (Thursday)
3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm. Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us for the recently restructured group as we discuss Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher by Bruce Coville, and start our next chapter book together. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting.

February 22nd(Tuesday)
The City Winds Trio presents Peter & the Wolf @ 2:00pm –ages 5-11. Join us for an interactive music performance & workshop. Limited space available. Online registration for WT residents starts 2/11.

February 23rd (Wednesday)
Afternoon Story Time @ 4:00pm – all ages welcome. Join us for stories by children’s authors with birthdays in February – Jane Yolen, Mark Teague, David Weisner & more. No registration required.

February 28th(Monday)
5-6 Book Club @ 4:00pm – Join us to discuss Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson. Snacks available. Pick up a book at the library. For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

February 24th(Thursday)
Chess Club – @ 7:00pm. All ages welcome – must be able to play. Bring a board just in case – no registration required.
