Washington Twp Public Library June Children's Programs

Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during June 2011:
* Please note – Washington Twp residents are given priority for all programs that require sign-ups.*

 Summer Reading Club 2011One World, Many Stories – starts Saturday, June 25th – sign up for reading, prizes and fun! Sign up any time this summer – (June 25th 2-4pm only)


Summer Story Time - June 28th through August 11th
Mother Goose & Me:(up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time: (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.

June 13th (Monday)
LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations. WT residents only. Online sign ups start 5/2.

June 11th(Saturday)
Family Story Time @ 11:00am – Join Mrs. Birch for fun with stories & more – no registration required.
Family Movie @ 1:00pm – Join us as we watch a recently released DVD (rated PG). Snacks provided, parents stay with children, no registration required.

June 8th (Wednesday)
Annual Bookmark Contest Reception @ 4:30pm – All entrants in the bookmark contest are invited to join us for a celebration for a job well done – refreshments served, certificates awarded, pictures taken.

June 20th(Monday)
3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm. Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us as we discuss Bandit’s Moon by Sid Fleischman – a historical fiction. We will also start our next chapter book.. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting. Please contact Mrs. Birch if interested.

June 27th(Monday)
5-6 Book Club @ 4:00pm – Join us to discuss Boston Jane: an Adventure by Jennifer L. Holm. Snacks available. Pick up a book at the library. For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

June 30th(Thursday)
Chess Club @ 7:00pm. All ages welcome – must be able to play. Play for prizes. Bring a board just in case – no registration required.

                                      


SRC Kickoff! Saturday, June 25th 2:00-4:00pm
This is our first day to sign up for the Summer Reading Club – we will take your registration from 2-4pm today, but you can sign up anytime we are open – all summer long! Join us for the Petting Zoo (2:00-3:00pm) and a visit from our friend, Sprinkles the Clown(2:30-3:30)!

June 25th(Saturday)
Korean Spirit & Culture Promotion Program (KSCPP) presents Wonders of Korea @ 2:30pm – Two short documentaries – The Hidden Treasures of Korea & Modern Korea will be presented, followed by a reenactment of a traditional Korean Wedding ceremony & meal. Space is limited. WT residents have priority. Grades 5 and up. Online registration starts June 3rd.

June 27th(Monday)
Geocaching @ 7:00pmFor famililies & teens - Geocaching is an outdoor sporting activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world. If you have a handheld GPS please bring it. Online registration starts 6/22.

June 29th(Wednesday)
Bubble Trouble @ 7:00pm – Family program - A bubble volcano. Bubble roller coaster. A kid in a bubble? Jeff Boyer takes bubbles to the max in this one-man bubble extravaganza, mixing comedy, music and interactive bubble-magic! WT residents register online starting 6/22.
