WTPL Children's Programs: September 2011

Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during September  2011:

* Please note – Washington Twp residents are given priority for all programs that require sign-ups.*

Fall  Story Time  - September 13th through November 3^rd(no story time the week of September 27^th – carpet installation)

Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am

Toddler Time:  (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am

Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm

We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more – no registration required.

September 7^th (Wednesday)

Family Story Time @ 7:00pm – all ages are invited to join Mrs. Averett for fun with stories & more.  No registration required.

September 12^th (Monday)

Storytime for High Holy Days – ages 2-5 years old. Join us as Frida Shusterman from Chabad Jewish Center leads a story time for Rosh Hashanah. Please let us know if you will be attending starting September 1st.

September 12th (Monday)

LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations. WT residents only.  Online sign ups start 9/5.

September 16^th (Friday)

Homeschool Open House @ 10:00am - Join Mrs. Birch to learn what the library has to offer homeschoolers in the neighborhood.  Please register online starting 9/1 so that we know how many will be attending.

September 19^th(Monday)

3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm.  Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us as we discuss The Invention of Hugo Cabret  by Brian Selznick – a steampunk novel.  We will also start our next chapter book. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting.  Please contact Mrs. Birch if interested.

September  20^th & September  27th (Tuesday)

Read to Rover  4:00-5:00pm – Beginning readers, join our friendly therapy dogs & their trainers to practice reading.  REAL dogs!  Please contact Mrs. Birch to schedule a time slot.

September 26th(Monday)

Book Buzz  Book Club @ 4:00pm –  * NOW for grades 5-8.  Join us to discuss Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld.  Snacks available.  Pick up a book at the library.  For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

September 26^th (Monday)

Watercolor Pencil Painting @ 6:00pm  – grades 3-5.  Learn to watercolor the easy way with our expert, Doris Schwint.  WT residents please register online starting 9/19.

September  29th(Thursday)

Chess Club  @ 7:00pm.  All ages welcome – must be able to play. Play for prizes.  Bring a board just in case – no registration required.
