Valentine Floral Design Demonstration
Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 7 p.m.

Patti Bowman, member of the Garden Club of Long Valley, a graduate of the New York Botanical Garden and owner of Violet & Vine LLC, a free-lance floral business whose experience includes working with a famous NY designer and provides floral design instruction at a local florist is hosting a demonstration program on Valentine floral designs.  Come and let your creative energies blossom as you learn how you can recreate a special design for your own Valentine.

 Taste Wine like A Pro – The Basics of Wine Tasting

Most of us know how to drink wine, but we can deepen our appreciation for both wine and wine making by learning how to correctly taste wine. Kenn Pogash from Chester Shop Rite Wines & Spirits will discuss a systematic approach to tasting wine and educate us on the characteristics and important considerations of wine tasting. Kenn holds certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in London.

Paul Robeson, A Chautauqua on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 7 p.m.

Mr. Jefferson brings the life of Paul Robeson alive through first-person historical characterization. Robeson, one of the most well known African-Americans of the 20th century, was a renaissance man, a social activist, scholar, intellectual, lawyer, All-American athlete, singer, linguist, humanist, and advocate for international peace.

This program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during February  2012:

Get Organzied Computer Class

The Washington Twp.  Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853 is offering new Adult Technology Classes. The first class “Get Organized” will be offered on Thursday, Jan. 26th at 7 p.m. You will learn to organize your files, documents and pictures on your computer and how to back up your files to an external drive. Please bring a USB/Flash drive and the cord with which you will connect your device to the computer to class.
