Washington Twp Library Children's Programs - February 2012

Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during February  2012:

* Please note – Washington Twp residents are given priority for all programs that require sign-ups.*

Book Buddies – SIGN up NOW! Volunteers needed - Grades 5 and up.  Kids in Grades 1 or 2, everyone please sign up with Mrs. Birch.  Tuesdays from 4:30 -5:00pm, 6 weeks, starting January 24^th .

Winter Story Time

Story Times:  January 10^th – February 29th
Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time:  (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.

Evening Story Time @ 7:00pm – Family Story Time – Join Mrs. Averett for “ A Night @ the Museum!”  No registration required.

February 4th(Saturday)

Family Story Time @ 11:00am – Join Mrs. Birch for fun with stories & more – no registration required.

The Iditarod Experience @ 2:00pm (Family Program) - Kim Darst and Lead Dog, Cotton - Come Learn about the “Last Great Race on Earth” and what it’s like to travel and compete in the Alaskan country side.  Kim will discuss what it’s like to be the first musher from New Jersey to compete and answer questions about what it’s like to participate in such a challenging race. WT residents have priority. Please register online.

February 6^th (Monday)

Kidz Kraft @ 4:00pm – for kids in grades K-2.  Join us to make a Valentine craft.  Please register online starting 1/30.  WT residents have priority.

February 10^th(Friday)

Hello, Amigos! @ 10:30am – Join Miss Jenny for an interactive story time & craft introducing the Spanish language.  Our theme is Hearts!  Please register online starting 2/3  so we know how many to prepare for.

Big Kidz Kraft @ 4:00pm – for kids in grades 3-5.  Join us to make fun food for your Valentine.  Please register online starting 2/3.  WT residents have priority.

February 13th (Monday)

LEGO Club @ 4:00pm – Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations.   WT residents only.  Online sign ups start 2/6.

February 15th (Wednesday)

Afternoon Story Time @ 4:00pm – all ages welcome. Join us for stories about dragons –No registration required.

February 22^nd(Wednesday)

Snow Stories @ 4:00pm -  presented by the Centenary Stage Company – for grades K through 3. Join us for a theatrical reading of a favorite picture book & activity.  WT residents have priority, please register online starting 2/15.

February 23^rd(Thursday)

NJ Rocks! @ 4:30pm – ages 6 and up.  Join us as Mr. C. tells us great facts & stories about our home state – NJ.  Please register online starting 2/16.  WT residents have priority.

February 23^th(Thursday)

Chess Club @ 7:00pm. Bring a board just in case, play for prizes – no registration required.

February  24th (Friday)

3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm.  Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us as we discuss Black Star, Bright Dawn by Scott O’Dell and start our next chapter book together. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting.

February 27^th(Monday)

Book Buzz @ 4:00pm – for grades 5-8. Join us to discuss The Looking Glass Wars, by Frank Beddor & others that you are reading, snacks available. Pick up a book at the library.  For more info contact Mrs. Birch.
