Washington Twp Public Library March 2011 Children's Programs




Washington Township Public Library at 37 E. Springtown Road in Long Valley, N.J. (www.wtpl.org) will hold the following children’s programs and registrations during March 2011:

* Please note – Washington Twp residents are given priority for all programs that require sign-ups.*

Book Buddies – SIGN up NOW! Volunteers needed - Grades 5 and up. Kids in Grades 1 or 2 practice reading to a Big Buddy (grades 5 & up). Please sign up with Mrs. Birch. Tuesdays from 4:30 -5:00pm, 6 weeks, starting April 5th .

Winter Story Time
Story Times: Through March 3rd
- Spring Story Time starts March 22nd **
Mother Goose & Me: (up to 24 months): Thursdays @ 10am or 11am
Toddler Time: (ages 2-3): Tuesdays @ 10 am or 11am
Story Time : (ages 3-5 ): Wednesdays @ 10am or 1pm
We will have fun with stories, fingerplays, songs and more.

March 2nd (Wednesday)
Evening Story Time @ 7:00pm – Family Story Time
– Join Mrs. Averett for a Squeaky Clean Story Time - No registration required.

March 5th(Saturday)
Family Story Time @ 11:00am
– Join Mrs. Birch for fun with stories & more – no registration required.
Family Movie @ 1:00pm – Join us as we watch a recently released DVD (rated PG) about a blue supervillain who is not as evil as he thinks he is. Snacks provided, parents stay with children, no registration required.

March 9th(Wednesday)
Interactive Watershed Awareness Program
- Join our ambassador, Calvin, as he teaches us about what happens to the water that we live with - try out his water table to see how we can interact with our surroundings. See more info about this NJ Dept of Environmental Protection sanctioned program on our website under children’s programs.
Limited space available – please sign-up online starting 2/25.
@ 4:00pm – Kids in grades K-2
@ 4:30pm - Kids in grades 3-5

March 12th(Saturday)
Family Program :POP Art Workshop by Michael Albert – 1:00-3:00pm
Celebrate Youth Art Month! Join us as Pop Artist Michael Albert talks about his art and helps us create something of our own. Check our website for examples of his artwork. Washington Twp residents register online starting 2/18. Parents must register for this program also.

March 14th (Monday)
LEGO Club @ 4:00pm
– Kids ages 5-11 yrs can come to build exciting creations.
WT residents only. Online sign ups start 2/7.

March - tbd
3-4 Book Club @ 4:00pm.
Kids in grades 3 & 4 - Join us for the recently restructured group as we discuss books by Dick King-Smith and start our next chapter book together. Books & snacks will be available at the meeting. Please contact Mrs. Birch if interested.

March 21st(Monday)
5-6 Book Club @ 4:00pm
– Join us to discuss The Music of Dolphins by Karen Hesse. Snacks available. Pick up a book at the library. For more info contact Mrs. Birch.

March 23rd (Wednesday)
Afternoon Story Time @ 4:00pm
– all ages welcome. Join us for stories about art, Celebrate Youth Art Month!
No registration required.

March 31st(Thursday)
Chess Club – @ 7:00pm.
All ages welcome – must be able to play. Bring a board just in case – no registration required.

Come to a Balance Exercise Program On Thursday, March 17, 2011 AT 7 P.M. at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ.


Stan Cohen is the Creative Director, visionary and president of ChiForLiving, LLC. ChiForLiving is a method of exercise that builds balance, increases range of motion and overall mobility. His goal is to keep people moving and help them retain their independence.

Lunch n Learn - Kessler Rehabilitation Center presents “Stress Management & Relaxation Techniques”
