The Friends of The Washington Township Public Library Reception
and Annual Meeting – Monday, May 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Join them to learn more about your library and how you can help support it. You will hear how the Friends have helped the library in the past, and how you can help the Friends as they plan for the next year. The Friends organization is looking for new board members, volunteers, Friends members and ideas.

Square Foot Gardening –
Monday, May 10. 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

How to create a raised plant bed system that is organic, efficient, neat and tidy without weeds! Based on Mel Bartholomew's Square Foot Gardening Book. Terry Holman, a certified Square Foot Gardening Instructor and President of the Garden Club of Long Valley will present a Square Foot Gardening program She will provide handouts to create this new, efficient gardening system that can grow 100% of a normal garden in 20% of the space with just 10% of the water and seeds.

POSITIVE Mental Health: Signs and Symptoms

Often we are concerned about the signs and symptoms of negative mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. Have you ever wondered what it looks likes to have positive mental health? Margaret “Gigi” Roe, MA, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, will discuss and challenge you to look at what areas of your life are strengths, what is moving you in a positive direction towards contentment and happiness, and what you can do to improve any possible weaker areas. Obtaining and maintaining positive mental health takes effort, but is much easier than overcoming the ill-effects from such things as chronic stress, depression and anxiety.

The topics that will be covered by Rick Byank, Ameriprise Financial Senior Financial Advisor, are benefits of estate planning, trusts, charitable giving and leaving a legacy, estate planning process and roles. The presentation is scheduled for about 30 min with question and answer afterwards.

This Financial Fitness Workshop, by Tony Liu, local resident and budget counselor, is designed to everyone in your family how to budget your money throughout the year in a simple and easy wayThis course is not about investments or ways to make money. Budgeting is all abut designing a specific plan to use your money wisely according to your needs and financial capability. If you are one of the millions who tends to over spend or if you do not know where your money goes, you will find this budgeting method very helpful.

Lunch n Learn – Breast Health

Join us for a Lunch n Learn on Breast Health with Dr. Friedman and Renee Trambert . Women have many other breast health concerns that are not cancer related, including breast pain, fibrocystic breasts, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It is estimated that nine out of ten women have benign (non-cancerous) breast conditions. A benign breast condition is any non-cancerous breast abnormality. Come learn more abut breast health and ways help remedy issues you may already be experiencing.
