During May 2010 at the Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, artwork from Shirley Reo Beene, local artist, will be on display. The display will include some studies Shirley and her husband, Roy, did for the Library Mural, several paintings of Long Valley locations that are now long gone, and couple of still life’s.
Shirley was born in California, has lived in Miami and Hawaii, but she still delights in New Jersey’s beautiful trees, rivers and farms. She has taught for the Foss School of Fine Arts in Hawaii and the Somerset Art Association here in New Jersey. Shirley works as, primarily, a portrait artist, but she paints still life’s and landscapes too.
