DON'T MISS! Frank and Judy: A Musical Romance

The Washington Twp. Public Library, 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ welcomes the dynamic duo of cabaret singer, Francine Evans and her jazz musician husband, Joel Zelnick, on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM for a free concert tribute to the legendary Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland.
Sinatra and Garland need no introduction. But performers, Francine Evans and Joel ...Zelnick have a little known, but compelling back story that reignited their careers. After 20 years of successfully singing as a coloratura soprano, Francine Evans totally lost her voice due to faulty prescription medication.
But she has a very special husband in Joel Zelnick, who has been a bandleader and pianist for thousands of events, and has played for 5 Presidents. Gradually, Joel began to nurture Francine’s vocal talents, and eventually they were performing together to great reviews.
On Sunday, September 26, Francine, accompanied by Joel, will take on the persona of Frank Sinatra bringing back his sound, his era and the winning atmosphere of his music. And then, Francine who found that she had a lot in common with Judy Garland, especially the pain that came from faulty medical treatment, will bring out the essence of Judy Garland as she croons “Over the Rainbow,” “The Man That Got Away,” “Get Happy” and “The Trolley Song.”
